1.0.0 - Release Devlog


After a long month in development, and over a year of going back and forth on the future of the idea, I'm finally excited to announce the release of Pizza Mafia on Itch.io and Google Play!

Okay, so where did this start? Back in 2019, shortly after the release of Aborith, i began playing around with unity's 2D engine. This lead to the initial concept of the game idea, an orphographic 2D defence game. Months passed and the project remained untouched, besides a small number of visual assets and an idea.

This is how the project remained until i began my second year at university. during the first few months we were introduced to the GAP5005 module, covering PC architecture and our first assessed project relating to designing and developing a game. After a few weeks tossing with different ideas and concepts, i eventually found myself in a pit of despair realising i'd fail my course and do nothing with my future. Eventually, I decided to re-visit my old projects to take inspiration.

In the end i found two unfinished projects. The first of which was a large task, too large for the amount of time i had (Keep an eye out for this project soon!!). The second project i found was Pizza Mafia, a 2D defence game i designed years ago. With a brief designated to a 2D android game, the majority of the foundation and the concept of the game was already in place. Over the past few weeks I have been designing the rest of the visual assets, and working on developing and implementing the game-play and global leader-boards.

As it stands, the project is still being developed on post-assessment until i believe the game is at a stable enough release to leave for a while
